An Afternoon Outside

First, let me just mention that I've been updating this blog like a CHAMP lately. Yeah, it won't last long. Anyway, yesterday, after Reid's nap, we put on some old play clothes and decided to take his trucks outside and play. The weather was BEAUTIFUL, in the low 70s, until the sun started going down. He played for at least a couple of hours before his Daddy came home and we had to pack it up. Reid had so much fun! Here are some pictures I took. Notice his "cowboy boots."

The calves were in our yard, but we scared them away.

Sweet boy.

Waving bye-bye to the cows.

Thank Goodness for Tuesday Mornings

I know the stay-at-home moms out there understand when I say the precious words...Mother's Day Out. I love my child, but I look forward to Tuesdays SO MUCH! When I wake Reid up, we eat breakfast and then start getting his backpack packed and his clothes on. He acts all excited while we're at home and on the way there, but....of course....he has a melt-down as I leave. I guess he wants Mommy to stay and enjoy all the fun that he has. Luckily he loves his teachers and they quickly make him happy again. It's always funny to me the before and after on Tuesday mornings. I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
Before...

Grampa, notice the hair (above)? We're in DESPERATE need of that haircut!!! = )

Sorry Dada...Internet trouble!

Okay, now I have to make up for 2 days! For some reason, I couldn't get in to update the blog last night, and then the Internet has been down most of today, so FINALLY I am able to update, and have 2 days to share. Yesterday was a pretty typical day at the Ellis house. Reid woke up early and started the day off with a big breakfast, he played and watched the Backyardigans, and then it was time for a nap, which he did not resist in the slightest. Yesterday afternoon, Reid got a big surprise when Granna and Grampa came by to visit! Reid was so excited to see someone that wasn't his Mommy! Here are some pictures of Reid playing with Grampa and trying to ride in his Tonka Truck. He doesn't quite fit, but he thinks he can!

Reid also started riding his 4-wheeler all by himself. Sometimes he even likes to impress and ride it backwards...such an Evil-Knievil!

As for today (Tuesday) Reid went to school (aka Mother's Day Out at FBC here in Opp). Just a plug for any Opp stay-at-home Moms the program at FBC is AWESOME! Reid has been to more than one program, and Opp's trumps all the rest!! Anyway, once he gets over the initial shock of Mommy leaving, he has a blast! I'm always told that he's good, but I seriously doubt they would tell me otherwise...so I just hope he is! After getting home this afternoon, Reid took a LONG nap! Once caught up on his rest, he was back in action! He watched the Inauguration festivities with Mommy while being a busy little boy. Here he is kicked back relaxing with two of his favorite things, a cold beverage and his popeye (oh, do you notice the spare?)

Reid was quickly brought to boredom with the tv, and decided to give the 4-wheeler another go.

He also had a big smile for Daddy!

Well, I am going to have to cut it off here, because Reid is starting to ask for his supper. We love you Dada! DayDay, CeyCey, Grampa and Granna have been taking good care of us! Only 2 more days and we'll see you again! Philippians 1:3.

For Dada...

Well, Cory left on a five day business trip to Phoenix, Arizona this morning. This is the longest and farthest he's been away from Reid since he's been born, and me since we've been married! We already miss him TERRIBLY!!! So he doesn't miss a thing, it is my goal to update the blog every day that he is gone (we'll see how successful I am, but that's the plan!) The first pictures are of Reid getting into his first roll of toilet paper. He had a BLAST, and I had a job cleaning it all up! The last pics are of him eating his lunch today. We rarely eat mac-n-cheese because it is MESSY, but he was so cute today eating, laughing and saying Dada's name. So Dada, Reid wanted to let you know that he was a very good boy today. He ate all his oranges at lunch and brushed his teeth before he went to bed. He misses you, and Moma does too! Love you and we'll see you soon! Philippians 1:3.

Now I think I'll end by telling everyone our exciting news! I went to the doctor this past week, and sweet talked my OB into letting me have an early ultrasound...It's a GIRL! Cory and I are very excited and will name her Georgia Catherine. Hopefully she will arrive sometime in late June or early July!

Upon request...

Well, it's been a little while since we've made contact with the blogging world. The holidays were slightly less than memorable this year, because Cory and Reid were both sick. When we made our trip to Georgia to visit my grandparents, Reid made his routine trip to the Emergency Room with nearly 104 fever. After two weeks of antibiotics, he seems to be feeling MUCH better. Cory, had a case of bronchitis, and is finally on the up-swing. I am catching up on rest, because it is MISERABLE having both of your boys sick! If I had to choose, I would rather be sick any day of the week than have the two of them looking so pitiful!

While in Georgia, Reid and Cory passed their "gunk" onto my Mom and Dad (Grampa and Granna). Granna was in the hospital for two days, and is now at home resting and recovering. Grampa is being a trooper and just trying to keep moving in spite of feeling bad. Because they have been sick, they haven't been able to see Reid in over a week, and it is killing them both! Here are two pictures to show them that Reid has NOT grown up too much = ). Hope you both start feeling well soon...maybe this smile will help!

I couldn't get him to stop watching VeggieTales...go figure = )
