Dedication?

I've always used the excuse of two children as the reason that I am not as dedicated of a blogger as I once was. Yes...that may be true...but I am seriously taking a new approach to my priorities. Where is this coming from? Well, let's see...over the weekend, I was "computer-less" because our power cord bit the dust, and our spare was at Cory's office in Andalusia. So I wasn't able to do anything on the computer all weekend. That wasn't too big of a deal, until Monday morning I found myself piling the kids in the car before 8:00 am to drive to Andy to get the power cord...I guess because I couldn't make it until Cory came home. Then I began to notice a pattern...I would get on the computer and check Facebook and my email before I would do anything else. Again, tonight I was eating with friends, and the discussion came up about blogging, Facebooking and the pros and cons.


So where am I going with this?


I want to make sure that the time I spend on the computer is "worth while." Blogging is much more personal...and I'm documenting the lives of my children. I want to limit the needless time, and spend a little more time enjoying what really matters.


SO....if you are a Facebook friend...yes...I am gone. Maybe permanently...maybe temporarily...but at least until I don't need my "Status Update Patch" for the withdrawals. I want to be more dedicated to what matters...like maybe the laundry...Cory would like that.

Snow down South

What a weekend! The weatherman kept saying, "Snow, Snow, Snow" but of course, we're always skeptical...but he was right! Cory was able to come home from work, and we stayed at home with the kiddos, (we were supposed to go to the beach for V-day) ate chicken soup, and watched it snow.

Reid was amazed. He kept pointing outside saying, "Ho, Ho, Ho!" Cory and I are grouches I guess (probably because we have had babies in the hospital more times than we care to remember) so we already knew that Reid was not going to get to play in the snow too much. But we did let him out long enough to make and throw a few snowballs and take some pictures. Honestly, I think he liked looking at the snow more than playing in it.


Sweet Georgia is just too little...and too bald to be out in it long. So...I bundled her up, and stepped out on the back porch long enough for Cory to take a picture. She kept looking up, closing her eyes and sticking out her tongue. She was so precious with snowflakes on her eyelashes. She would just look at me with the sweetest smile like she was saying, "Mom, this is magical!"

Even though our snow play was little (no snowmen or snowangels) we caught a few pictures and made some sweet memories.

Birthday, Dedication, Turkey and "Baby Dezus"

I guess my 2 month hiatus lends to the idea that we've been a little busy. Reid celebrated 2 beautiful years in his Mommy and Daddy's arms, our family counted our blessings during Thanksgiving in Auburn, Sissy was honored and promised to be raised in a Christian home during her Baby Dedication, and last, but definitely not least, we celebrated the life of Baby Dezus (aka, Jesus, but he has a nickname in our house thanks to my two-year-old).

Growing Boy

My Sweet Reid,

You have only been on this Earth two short years, and you have already proven to have immeasurable resilience and unwavering strength. Through illness and pain, you have never lost your sweet, sweet smile. I can only pray that you are always as joyful as you are right now. Your Daddy and I pray daily that your first love (other than us, cows and tractors) will be our savior and friend, Jesus Christ. Without Him, your life has no purpose. May you see Him in our eyes daily, grow to love Him, and accept Him as your Redeemer.

You have the gift of brightening dreary days. There have been so many times that I have been down, and you simply place your hand on mine and squeeze it tightly. That gentle touch and those silver dollar eyes can make the saddest person jump with joy. Never lose this gift. God will use you throughout your life to brighten the lives of others.

You recently took on the job of "big brother." No, you did not ask for this position, but God blessed you with it. This is a great responsibility. There will come a day when you will know more about what is going on in Sissy's life than your Daddy and I do. You must guide her, protect her and help her to make the right decisions when Mommy and Daddy are not close by. Daddy and I trust you because we already see the love you have for Georgia in the gentle way you play with her. Always hold her close. She is truly a treasure.

Every morning I wake up to your smiling face, and each night I kiss your cheek before you drift off to sleep. I will not always be able to do this, but know that there will never be a morning or a night that I do not think of you and pray for you. The moment that your Daddy and I held you for the first time, we were given proof that our God is indeed very real. Keep smiling Baby Reid...keep smiling.

Francie Turns Two and Family Lake Weekend...

This has been an exciting month for our four. Our sweet Francie turned two, and we enjoyed celebrating with her. We also went to Lake Eufaula for a fun family weekend. Here are some pictures I wanted to share!

Family Picture at the Cabin

Rolling, Loving, and Calving...

First, our sweet Georgia Peach (4 and 1/2 months) is rolling EVERYWHERE! Earlier this week at 4:00 a.m., she decided to start rolling onto her back, and of course she needed an audience...she has been going ever since! She is already trying to get on her hands and knees, and I'm afraid we will have a crawler before too long...goodness...where does time go?

Along with the cold weather, also comes sweet baby calves. Here is a picture of one...brand new!

And the reason we started this blog, our Reidster, will be turning 2 in less than a month! He is changing and growing everyday. Despite the "terrible twos" we seem to be entering, he is such a joy, and I am so blessed to be his mother. Here is a video of him saying "I Love You!"
